Palau Sant Jordi
Concert hall in Barcelona
The Palau Sant Jordi is Barcelona's main indoor arena, designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and opened on Montjuïc in 1990 for the Olympic Games. In concert configuration it holds close to 17,000 people, and it is where international pop, rock and urban tours play when they want a roof rather than a stadium. The domed, column-free hall can be set up with a standing floor or fully seated tiers, so your experience depends a great deal on which ticket you hold. You reach it from Plaça d'Espanya (metro L1 and L3) via the Montjuïc escalators. Tickets are sold in advance through the promoter's official channels and usually go fast.
