Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

The Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys is Barcelona's largest open-air venue, high on Montjuïc hill. Opened in 1929 and completely rebuilt for the 1992 Olympic Games, it now hosts the international tours too big for any indoor room: pop, rock and full stadium productions, with a concert capacity of around 55,000 across the stands and the pitch. You reach it from Plaça d'Espanya (metro L1 and L3) via the Montjuïc escalators, or on the funicular from Paral·lel (L2 and L3). Tickets are always sold in advance through the promoter and go quickly, so study the seating map before you buy — pitch and upper tier are very different experiences.
